I didn't need to hear that about Kit's cute lunch box. I've been eyeing it on the sale page, but trying to resist.

I think the description says Molly's lunchbox is supposed to be a hand-me-down from Jill? It makes more sense that Molly's family would have helped the war effort by donating the lunchbox for s**** metal and given Molly paper bags for her lunch. But oh well. The metal lunchbox is cool!

That's right about the 'hand me down' story.
I remember walking to school with my bag lunch and picking up pieces of 'tinfoil' along the street and making a big ball of it to donate..
    'Course I remember rationing stamps,too.
And my MOm making me really nice dresses from feed sacks (even undies)<blushes>
    Am I dating myself here???

(edited because I never could spell!)

I'm SERIOUSLY into 40s/50s stuff and I am young and have no excuse! I have tons of vintage dresses (that I actually wear) and I am trying to redo my room with all vintage and retro pieces.

The young teens right now don't remember B&W TV or even knew what a rotary phone was, let alone how to use it! (I have both still hehe)

ROFL I've gotten 2 AGs, a bitty, 2 bitty bears and Penny. I think I stole your luck Nah seriously though, if you live in any major city they show up all the time. You just have to wait and keep looking.

I am going to pass on to my mom that there is a lady her age hanging out on our message board, so maybe she'll finally come out of her private little doll shell! My mother was six when the US entered WWII in 1941.

And maybe this would convince her to get a computer.

I have a picture of my mother in third grade (1943-44) wearing a dress that looks almost exactly like Molly's Christmas dress.

I'll spell it for you, two ways in case the first one doesn't work.

    S C ********** R ******A//////P

    Second way..

"S", then the letter after B, then the letter after Q, then "A", then "P".

    Totally ridiculous.
